0 ratings

Video Description

"The SALOME Study will test whether hydromorphone (Dilaudid®), a licensed medication, is as good as diacetylmorphine, the active ingredient of heroin, in benefiting people suffering from heroin addiction who are not benefiting from other treatments.

Part 1 looks at the specific costs of heroin addiction. There are costs to the health of heroin addicts, costs to the Health Care system, and costs to prosecute addicts who engage in illegal activities such as theft or prostitution to support their heroin addiction.

Part 1 also discusses why people use heroin. The video looks at how the stigma of heroin addiction affects the mental health of those addicted.
