What Does PCP look like?

Back

In its pure state, PCP generally takes the form of a white, crystalline powder that dissolves quickly in water and alcohol. It is easy to manufacture. It is produced in underground laboratories and also sold in tablets and capsules of various colours. A typical dose sold on the street contains about 10 mg of PCP and costs about $10. Because PCP is so cheap and so easy to make, it is often used to “cut” other psychoactive drugs, such as LSD, cannabis, and cocaine, or to amplify their effects.

PCP can be taken orally in powder, tablet, capsule, or liquid form. It can also be snorted, smoked, or injected (usually intravenously, but sometimes intramuscularly).

PCP is often sold under false names; frequently, it is called mess, or sold as mescaline.
